Jewellery Designer Miata Jones lives and work in New York City. She is a self-taught artist who has used her experience in the fashion industry, her fondness of jewellery and a witty imagination to put her collections together. She was born in the US and raised in Monrovia, Liberia. She returned to the U.S. to complete her studies at the age of 15. Being raised in a political family where her Grandfather was the Speaker of the House and one of the original founding members of the United Nations, she also aspired to follow in the family business to be an Ambassador. All that changed when she was introduced to the fashion world as a model and then as a student at FIT. She has accumulated 12 years of working experience in the beauty industry and worked for some of the leaders in the industry like Estee Lauder, Giorgio Armani Beaute and Alfred Dunhill. Always wanting to start a business of her own, she decided to start making some jewellery for friends and family. With encouragement from them, she decided to create her first collection in early 2004.  That is how Miata Jones Designs began, with a philosophy to design chic, wearable, timeless and sexy jewellery. The collection  is hand-made in 18kt - 22kt yellow gold, gold-filled  and sterling silver. She looks to nature to inspire her delicate creations that enhance her clients natural beauty and free spirit. Her fun, sophisticated collection features,  an endless variety of precious and semi-precious stones such as Aquamarine, Tourmaline, Amethyst, Citrine ,Topaz, Sapphire, Ruby, Lapis Lazuli and Emerald. By using an unexpected mix of the finest materials to create timeless designs, each piece is designed to be beautiful from all angles.  Inspired by the love of jewellery and the women in her family, she created  her first collection. Her unique designs inspire her customers to have fun in life and feel happy.
